Addiction
Finding solutions by uncovering resilience.
I can help.
Addiction in all its forms must certainly rank as the number one problem out there today in terms of prevalence, severity, the amount of loved ones affected, and the damage caused by it. Nowadays the drugs are much less forgiving, in that any type of user is at risk of dying at any time due to the contaminated drug supply.
We now face two problems: a poisoned drug supply and rampant addiction that won’t let people stop using. Both are deadly and urgent. And I can help.
Whether it’s setting up a recovery plan with a recreational user who wants to merely slow down, to talking with someone who doesn’t even believe they have a problem, I am well-versed in helping nudge people towards a healthier life no matter where they are on the continuum of addictive behaviours. The ultimate goal, of course, is not up to me, but I am good at questioning the most well-intentioned plan to keep using, as most addicted folks would love to be able to do…just without the negative consequences…it’s normal!
I can also help affected others find themselves again after spending so much time and energy focussing solely on saving their addicted person and thus, losing their own way. We do this whether the loved one wants help for themself or not. This allows the affected other to feel their own sense of freedom from the problem situation and, believe it or not, will actually encourage the addicted person to ask for help on their own.
Having overcome addiction myself, I can humbly say that I feel like I am truly an expert on all facets of addiction problem-solving, and I have worked successfully with many individuals, couples, and families in finding freedom from this most insidious of problems.
If you have a loved one who is currently in the grips of an active addiction, feel free to email or call to set up a free initial consultation so that we can talk next steps together. There IS a way out! For all of you…
